"Cleaver Denounces Agnew's Asian Tour."
New York Times, August 25, 1970, p. 3.
This article reads:
Eldridge Cleaver in a speech here (Hanoi) has denounced what he described as President Nixon's
doctrine of "making Asians fight Asians."
The Black Panther information minister, addressing what was termed a rally of solidarity with
America's black people, also denounced the Far Eastern tour by Vice President Agnew.
Cleaver told the meeting, which was attended by several North Vietnamese leaders, including
Hoang Minh Giam, Cultural Affairs Minister, that the "holy and courageous struggle of the
Vietnamese nation has strongly encouraged us and has helped us understand that by means of
protracted, hard and obstinate struggle it will be possible for us to overcome all
difficulties and obstacles and face any kind of circumstances."
