Robinson, Douglas. "Dr. King Proposes a Boycott of War." New York Times, April 5, 1967, p. 1,2.

This is an account of the New York Times reporting on Martin Luther King's speech against the Vietnam War on April 4, 1967 at the Riverside Church in New York City. Of special note are the protests (about 35 picketers) against the speech that took place outside the church. Dr. Herbert I. Mathew, head of the National Economic Growth and Reconstruction Organization (N.E.G.R.O.) was protesting because he believed that, "bigots were looking for issues to harm the civil rights movment," and he believed that Martin Luther King was handing them their issue.
