Janson, Donald. "Negroes Set Price to Aid Humphrey."
New York Times, October 15, 1968, p. 34.
The all African-American National Committee issued a set of demands to 1968 Democratic
Presidential nominee Hubert H. Humphrey that had to be met in order for the organization to
throw its full support behind his campaign. Included among the National Committee's demands
was for Humphrey to absolutely come out against the war in Vietnam, as well as for concrete
plans to solve problems of employment, education and housing.
