"G.I. Racial Clashes Held On Increase Away From Front."
New York Times, February 21, 1970, p. 8.
A report on a meeting held by over 36 congressmen, former military officers and others
discussing the increase in deadly clashes between whites and African-Americans in Vietnam
(mostly in rear areas away from the fighting). One item of note is the contention that
this was the result of a racist war in which the enemy were referred to as "gooks, slopes,
and dinks."
