The following is from the back cover of Everlastin' Love:

It took ten years for Jaz to come to terms with the fact that her husband would never return from Vietnam. Little by little, day by day, she began to recover from her grief... first, by retreating into the arms of her close-knit family, and later, by devoting herself to her career as an architect. But time does heal, and Jaz eventually allows herself to fall in love and marry again, in this deeply moving and wonderfully visual novel of life's fragility; of youthful chances taken, unwanted repercussions and mature resolutions; and of the loves of a young black woman — love of self, of family, of friends, and of men.
