Johnson, Thomas A. "Role of Negroes in Rally Small." New York Times, May 10, 1970, p. 25.

"Black people see the greater need to deal with racism here, before Vietnam, ecology or Cambodia." So said a Reginald Wilson, a 19 year old African-American, in an apparent reversal of seeing the two struggles as interrelated. Money concerns were raised a number of times as to why not many African-Americans made it to the protest. Said one, "We are involved in a class struggle and these kids are not in our class."
